Why are we offering this?
In brief, the current school system in England is the best and most inclusive it has ever been. However, there are still a small minority of students for whom it is very costly to provide appropriate help. These students used to fall out of former systems by the ages of 14 to 16 and seek work early. That is no longer an option, so we need to provide education for them somehow, until they reach their 19th birthdays, without cramming them into any old free space, thereby setting up both the students and the institutions that accept them for failure.
In the current climate of public austerity and private enterprise, many charities are helping bridge this gap. However, most of them are limited by their charters as to how broad a spectrum of students they can help. In particular, students whose only acknowledged reason for being out of school is anxiety are very difficult to place appropriately.
This is where YOU come in. If you are a charitable institution, a parent looking for excellent private tuition or an education provider - you can help with time, money, expertise or just by spreading the word to parents looking for tutors!
